Meet Our Team
Our knowledgeable, friendly and approachable team will be conducting workshops and leading field trips during the weekend. They are available to answer questions and share their expertise with you.
Michelle Kent Forte:
Michelle has always had an interest in nature, but her passion for birding was truly ignited in 2019 during a taco tour of the Rio Grande Valley when she and her husband realized they needed something to do between tacos. Michelle has a love of all birds but is especially captivated by shore birds and ducks. She regularly travels to the coast and mountains to enjoy the incredible diversity of both birds and landscapes our beautiful state has to offer. She truly enjoys encouraging others into the hobby that she has come to love so much. |
Anne Stinley:
A little yellow bird with a black mask lured Ann Stinely into an obsession with bird-watching. She discovered eBird shortly after and was lost to her friends and family. Ann resides in Cary, NC and birds all over her home state. |
Karla Schmidt :
I am a United States Air Force retiree. I currently work as a Cardiac and Vascular Sonographer. I am an enthusiastic, self taught wildlife photographer who is in love with photographing birds and other wildlife in their natural environment. I strive to not only get a great image, but to provide everyone with historical facts about my subject. I want to learn and understand what it takes for my subject to survive. My belief is the more we learn, the more we understand about our wildlife, the more we can help protect them. As Steve Irwin once said: "We don't own the planet Earth, we belong to it, and we must share it with our wildlife". |
